The Piedmont Activity Room was transformed into the most inviting Buckhead Night Spot. Beautifully decorated with candles, balloons and bottles of sparkling cider. Staff was dressed in black and white and served as the hostess with the most(ess). The Stately Trio was jamming and the residents were on the floor letting the good times roll. What added such a special touch, of course, is the diversity at Piedmont. All residents of all ages, all nationalities absolutely enjoying dancing, eating and laughing with each other. The Wind Down had our special residents stating they are going to write housing and HUD to request for more money so more events like this can take place at Piedmont. How about that?

One special moment occurred when one resident over 85 years old, originally from Nigeria, made a request for something with a beat from her country. The Stately Trio came up with a beat and improvised a song, then she got on the floor dancing, laughing and moving around. So it was the most touching scene ever experienced in a long, long time. The Wind Down was scheduled from 6 - 8p.m., however the residents wanted to keep it going. One resident went upstairs, brought down his cd's, and the Wind Down continued well into the evening. The men at Piedmont (the residents) were the perfect gentlemen. They were dressed and helped serve everyone! They cleaned up the kitchen, the tables, and discarded the trash. What a great group of volunteers at Piedmont?

Now the women volunteers were not out done. They assisted in setting up the food, decorations, etc. Deloris and Barbara must do something special for their volunteers at Piedmont! What a wonderful evening not only for our Seniors, but also for staff. Barbara Walker "cut the rug" with her residents and it was such a joy seeing the residents interact with their manager in a wonderful social setting. Of course, Vernice and Earlie got involved and got everyone doing the Electric Slide. I mean Everybody!

Congratulations to Deloris, Barbara and the entire Piedmont Team for a wonderful evening at Piedmont!
